Quotes that Inspire

Lyndon B. Johnson
We have entered an age in which education is not just a luxury permitting some men an advantage over others. It has become a necessity without which a person is defenseless in this complex, industrialized society. We have truly entered the century of the educated man.

Poverty must not be a bar to learning and learning must offer an escape from poverty.

Pamela Winton
For inclusion to be successful, specialist, teachers and families must actively collaborate to best meet the needs of the children with disabilities.

Quote about Passion
Renatta M. Cooper
When people are looking to you for leadership you have to know what you're talking about - you have to stay current.

  1. Wasn't president Johnson so right! I can't tell you how many times I have been told that now a Graduate degree is a dime a dozen and I better catch up! That is a very relevant quote. I can see such a difference in the education levels now compared to as recent as my parents as youth. We certainly need to help the younger generation realize the importance also...

  2. Johan, great quotes! I think President Johnson was way ahead of his time. It wasn't 'trendy' to be concerned with the underpriviliged back in 1963, but that didn't stop him.

Also agree with Renatta Cooper. There are so many preschool teachers who have only taken the basic courses to get certified. They're missing out on a lot of current knowledge, I feel.

  3. Wow! I love the quote from Pamela Winton. As someone who currently has special education students in my classroom, I can totally relate to this quote and appreciate the accuracy of those words. Our district has begun major steps towards allowing time in our work day for teacher collaboration and I cannot tell you how essential it is for our students. The things we are able to accomplish in our time together benefits our students in countless ways! We all sit down and talk about their needs, what's working well, what is not, and how we can change for the better.

  4. Lyndon B. Johnson was such a wise man. His words makes you think outside the box. "Poverty should not bar learning" rather motivate determination to end poverty through learning.

  6. Johan,

I love the quote about poverty, but with the way the economy is today, it is hard for anyonw ith an education to find work! However, we have to keep on moving and hopefully things will turn around!
